Welcome To DownHome Cafe
“Almost World Famous”
For nearly two decades, DownHome Cafe has been serving up more than just delicious home-cooked meals in Canton – we’ve been creating a place where faith, family, and community come together around the table.
Our Story
Kenneth and Catherine Long’s journey in the restaurant industry spans over 30 years. After successful careers managing fast-food franchises in Dallas and Illinois, they found their true calling when they discovered a small restaurant for sale in Canton. What started as a curious look at a local business opportunity has blossomed into a beloved community establishment that’s been serving our neighbors for 19 years and counting.
Family Values
Today, DownHome Cafe remains a true family business. Kenneth and Catherine’s daughter serves as general manager, while their grandson leads the kitchen team as kitchen manager. This family spirit extends to every aspect of our operation, from the recipes we serve to the way we treat our guests.
Community and Faith
More than just a restaurant, DownHome Cafe is a ministry and gathering place where faith and fellowship flourish. We’re proud to be a part of the Canton community and to serve as a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. You’ll find scripture verses shared on the back of our tickets, offering words of inspiration along with your meal.
Our Food
Every dish at DownHome Cafe is crafted with care and inspired by cherished family traditions. From our signature chicken and dressing to homemade gravy and hearty meatloaf, our menu features comfort food that reminds you of home. We believe in keeping our prices accessible while never compromising on quality.
Hours and Service
We’re open Tuesday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch, a schedule that allows our dedicated staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance while serving you with joy and enthusiasm.
“This is God’s restaurant. We’re just running it for Him.”
